Summary (Main Purpose)

The Finishing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the finishing operations of manufactured parts. This role involves managing a team, coordinating workflow, and implementing process improvements to optimize production output.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
  • Parts Finishing Operations: Performs finishing tasks including deburring, polishing, grinding, coating, cleaning, tumbling, blasting, assembly, laser marking and other finishing processes
  • Supervise Parts Finishing Operations: Oversee all finishing processes to ensure products meet quality and specification standards
  • Team Leadership: Mentor, manage and train finishing, assembly, and laser marking departments ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and productivity goals
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct inspections and enforce quality control measures, addressing defects and implementing corrective actions
  • Workflow & Scheduling: Coordinate daily work schedules, prioritize tasks, and optimize workflow for maximum efficiency
  • Equipment & Maintenance: Ensure finishing equipment is properly maintained, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate repairs or replacements
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and reduce waste
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce workplace safety regulations, conduct safety training, and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain records of production output, defects, and employee performance; prepare reports for management review

Qualifications & Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is a plus)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in parts finishing, manufacturing, or a related field
  • Experience working in the Medical or other highly regulated industry, specifically ISO 13485:2016 and FDA CFR820
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of finishing techniques (deburring, polishing, anodizing, painting, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in using finishing tools, measuring instruments, and related equipment
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety regulations and best practices
