Position Summary (Main Purpose)
Lowell has openings for two machinists to set up and operate sophisticated new Nakamura Mill Turn and/or Lathe CNC Equipment. Machinist Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC Nakamura Mill Turn and/or Lathe Machines.
- Manufacture conforming product through the use and interpretation of part drawings, operation instructions, manufacturing specifications, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Perform in-process inspection using inspection equipment and tools to verify dimensional and surface conformity. Uses data to adjust and maintain manufacturing process as needed.
- Maintain tooling, equipment, and work area to ensure an organized, safe, and clean environment.
- Performs routine preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance of the machines.
- Performs part finishing operations using a variety of abrasives, deburring tools and equipment.
- Collaborate with team members, quality, and engineering departments.
- Other duties as needed and assigned.
Mill Turn/Lathe Experience
- Minimum 2 years CNC Machinist experience, Nakamura experience preferred.
- Possesses advanced mechanical drawing reading skills and knowledge of GD&T.
- Understands metrology principles and how to perform inspection on complex parts.
- Strong computer skills in order to access, store, create, and log data.
- Light programming skills and ability to read and write macros preferred.
